MACS – Procedure & Results

What are the results from MACS?

A large number of patients who opt for Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting (MACS), have shown positive results with a 10-15% increase in pregnancy rate across the board.

What is the procedure for MACS?

Magnetic Activated Cell Sorting is an immunogenic procedure that uses antibodies bound to tiny biodegradable magnetic particles to recognize apoptotic sperm. These are damaged sperm and may not be able to fertilize the egg. Firstly, the sperm sample is passed through columns with a magnetic field and thereby retaining the sperm cells in the walls of the column. The remaining fraction contains only healthy spermatozoa with the best physiological qualities that are best for assisted reproduction.
