Risks of genetic testing

What are the risks and concerns with preimplantation genetic testing (PGS & PGD)?

PGS is a perfectly safe procedure to undergo; yes like all medical procedures, there is an inherent risk, but it can be mitigated. Embryos may suffer damage during extraction, but the benefits expected outweigh the benefits. There are no additional risks involved in undertaking an embryo biopsy or a pre-genetic screening. The risk profile remains just the same as a normal IVF procedure. However, like with any medical procedure, there is a minimal risk of embryo damage during extraction.
